Maryborough Rotary’s Cycle Central Goldfields bike ride is a recreational event offering participants a choice of routes to suit the casual cyclist through to the more seasoned rider. The shorter route will take riders to the neighbouring township of Talbot with an optional stop over at the award winning Talbot Farmers Market.
The longer ride visits Cragie, Red Lion, Talbot, Lexton, Amphitheatre, Avoca, Homebush, Wareek and returns to Maryborough.
Enjoy the villages of the goldfields cycling along gently undulating roads, minimal traffic and open spaces.
The two rides on offer are ”Gold Rush” …… 115km and ”Taste of Talbot”….. 42km
Entries will be accepted on the day. However, the ticket will be $5 more.
Refunds available up to 7 days prior to event date (ie 11/03/2018 ) less $10 booking fee.
Both rides are fully supported with a SAG wagon, St John’s first Aid and food/drink vendors. Food & drink will be provided by Rotary at Lexton (44km) & Maryborough(115km) at the end of the ride, plus a drink stop at Avoca (79km). Other food options are available at nearby cafes. For riders participating in the Taste of Talbot ride who wish to browse the market bikes can be left at the bowling green (For security cyclists should lock their bikes).
This event is a fundraising opportunity for the Rotary Club of Maryborough who will be providing catering and marshalling for this event.
